i know what you are thinking…
bombs, terrorists, buses…
that’s not it people.
israel’s scary side is even more terrifying…
here are the top three (for now)
1. the illusive hissing creature in the bush
2. the orange and black coiled snake hiding in the rocks
3. the dirty old men in the markets who proposition you
1a. what the crack are you?! and why are you hissing at me?! show yourself already, you cowardly (and semi terrifying) creature
2a. why are you hiding in the hand hold of the rocks i am climbing? you completely scared the crap out of me and you’ve ruined bouldering on ruins for me. hope you’re happy you stupid snake.
3a. don’t talk to me.
3b. don’t look at me.
3c. no. i will not marry you.
3d. no. i do not want to follow you back to your creepy store.
3e. you are gross.

the ruins…
i am a parcel of vain strivings tied
By a chance bond together
Dangling this way and that, their links
were made so loose and wide,
Methinks,
for milder weather.
a bunch of violets without their roots,
And sorrel intermixed,
Encircled by a wisp of straw
Once coiled about their shoots,
The law
By which I’m fixed.
A nosegay whcih TIme clutched out
Those fair Elysian fields
WIth weeds and broken stems, in hast,
That waste
The day he yields.
And here I bloom for a short hour unseen,
Drinking my juices up,
With no root in the land
To keep my branches green,
But stand
In a bare cup.
Some tender buds were left upon my stsem
In mimicry of life,
But ah! the children will not know,
Till time has withered them,
the woe
With which they’re rife.
But now I see I was not plucked for naught,
And after in life’s vase
Of glass set while I might survive,
But by a kind hand brought
Alive
To a strange place.
That stock thus thinned will soon redeem its hours,
And by another year,
Such as God knows, with freer air,
More fruits and fairer flowers
Will bear,
While I droop here.
(Henry David Thoreau)
i dream of a broken bird, flying free.
i dream of a broken bird, flying free.
left that oppressive cage down below.
left that oppressive cage down below.
i left a broken oppressive dream below.
that cage bird, now flying free.
i dream of a ship, sailing over the waves.
i dream of a ship, sailing over the waves.
leaving those rocky cliffs far behind.
leaving those rocky cliffs far behind.
those waves sailing over the cliffs, behind a rocky ship.
i dream of leaving far.
i perceive trees too, are slowly getting smaller.
i perceive trees too, are slowly getting smaller.
i know the distant land will ever fade.
i know the distant land will ever fade.
trees are getting distant, perceive the land.
Smaller, i know, i will slowly fade too.
i perceive the rocky ship that left a distant land behind.
getting smaller…ever slowly…
cliffs are now too far down below.
ever fade oppressive cage…
of leaving…of flying over the waves.
a dream…i know the sailing bird will land free.
